I would like to see points added for the heat races and possibly qualifying.
Also, add a driver's point/award and leave the current format for the owners.
Imagine Jimmy Johnson not driving the last 3 races and Hendrick replaces him in the car and the 48 wins all 3 races. Try explaining the Sprint Cup winner(s) to the media, casual fans at that point.
We have recently had a championship where the title went to a team who had 3 drivers in the car during the season. Great job by the team (deservingly), but someone else would have won a driver's championship because they raced all the events.
